Tuscany
Located in central Italy, Tuscany is a region of unique charm, which combines unspoiled natural landscapes, a thousand-year history and cities of art to be discovered. Not to mention a varied and rich cuisine, one of the most loved in Italy, and an excellent wine production. Some of the most appreciated wines in the world, such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano and Sangiovese - just to name a few - are born in the green hills of Tuscany. It is not by chance that Tuscany is one of the most popular destinations for high quality enogastronomical tourism.
Its territory, then, makes it unique in the world and ranges from wonderful hills dotted with cypress avenues to long sandy beaches overlooking the blue Ligurian Sea in the north and the Tyrrhenian Sea in the south of the region, up to lush natural parks where you can go hiking and relax in the silence of nature. Here, even lovers of the sea can find what they want, between the fashionable beaches of Versilia, such as Forte dei Marmi (perfect destination for shopping), Viareggio - famous for its Carnival - and Pietrasanta or the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, including the Island of Elba, easily accessible for a day trip.
But Tuscany is mainly known for its wonderful cities of art, custodians of Italian history and culture for centuries and the cradle of the Renaissance. Among these Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, Prato, San Gimignano, Volterra and Livorno, where you can get lost in museums, historic villas, stately homes, monuments of timeless beauty and picturesque views. The unique history linked to each city has forged its shape and distinctive features, as well as influencing its customs, cuisine and local folklore. That's why visiting each city is a tourist experience that should be tried at least once in a lifetime.
There is no lack of experiences and they range from hiking or biking to wine tasting, from a regenerative break in the many spas that dot the region, horseback riding, cooking classes, guided tours, hot air balloon flights and winery tours. All this without neglecting a little shopping in the name of local crafts, including leather, silver and wood, and the most famous Italian and international designers. Some historical brands such as Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci and Salvatore Ferragamo were born right in the heart of Tuscany.
