Considered a sports facility of excellence, symbol of Milan and one of the most famous in the world, the San Siro Stadium has now become a football legend. It was the scene of some of the most important matches of Italian and European football and hosted two World Cups.
Named after famous Milanese footballer Giuseppe Meazza (one of the greatest Italian soccer players who wore the colours of both Inter and Milan and twice World Champion with the National Italian team), the San Siro Stadium takes its name from the district in which it is located in the north-west part of the city. With over 75,000 seats, today it’s the largest stadium in Italy and the third in Europe. On the occasion of the 1990 World Cup, the City of Milan decided to begin an important architectural renewal of the stadium by implementing a third level. The four corner towers stand out beyond the bleachers reaching the roof.
San Siro is the home stadium of two of the most successful Italian Football League clubs: A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale (Inter), and in addition to hosting the matches of Milan and Inter, it’s welcomed since the 1970s many great concerts of the most important Italian and international artists.
The stadium also has a Store and a Museum displaying all kinds of historic items from both Milan and Inter’s past. The museum is the first stop of the Stadium Tour, which allows you to experience the stadium from the perspective of the champions.
